Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regs: air, water, hazardous waste, and compliance requirements.

  • Oversee environmental compliance activities: monitoring, inspections, reporting.

Scope of Position:

The Environmental Engineer will serve as the primary environmental compliance owner for the Vineland, NJ facility, with support from Division, Corporate environmental resources, and third-party consultants. This role is responsible for developing and implementing environmental strategies focused on regulatory compliance, permit management, environmental risk reduction, sustainability support, and alignment with corporate environmental requirements. Health and safety support may also be provided based on site priorities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Lead and continuously improve the site’s environmental management system, includingISO 14001 processes, documentation, communication, and integration with operations.
  • Overseeenvironmental compliance activities, including monitoring, inspections, testing, recordkeeping, corrective actions, and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage siteenvironmental permits and programs, includingTitle V air permit, NJPDES, stormwater, well water, hazardous waste, universal waste, used oil, SPCC, tank management, refrigerants, EPCRA/Tier II/TRI, and other applicable requirements.
  • Supporthazardous waste compliancefor a Large Quantity Generator site, including waste determinations, inspections, manifesting, contingency planning, training, reporting, and vendor coordination.
  • Provide environmental guidance, training, and compliance support toemployees, leaders, contractors, and vendors.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, project reviews, and proactive risk reduction efforts.
  • Serve as the site environmental contact forregulatory inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Partner withOperations, Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Compliance Control, consultants, and regulatorsto maintain compliance and advance environmental objectives.
Work Schedule / Travel:
  • Travel:Less than 5%
  • Schedule:40–50 hours per week
Education / Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree inEnvironmental Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum3–5 years of experiencein environmental health and safety engineering, preferably in amanufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, includingair, water, hazardous waste, and federal/state/local compliance requirements.
Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulatory programs, includingTitle V air permit compliance, NJPDES, stormwater, well water, RCRA hazardous waste, and Large Quantity Generator requirements.
  • Understanding ofISO 14001 environmental management systems.
  • Ability to communicate regulatory requirements effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience withenvironmental reporting, data management, corrective action, and compliance tracking systems.
Desired / Soft Skills:
  • Strong relationship-building skills with employees, leadership, regulators, consultants, and internal partners.
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic EHS organization.
  • Manufacturing experience with an understanding oftechnology delivery, innovation, and related environmental challenges.
  • Project management experience, including managingconsultants or external partners.
  • Preferred certifications/training:CHMM, ISO 14001 auditor training, and RCRA/DOT hazardous materials or hazardous waste training.

The range for this position is$74,756.00-$102,790.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
