Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to support environmental planning and compliance activities for manufacturing and non-manufacturing facilities. This position will work closely with Production Engineering teams as they implement equipment changes, facility modifications, capital projects, and new launches.

The Environmental Engineer will evaluate proposed projects for potential environmental impacts, determine permitting requirements, and help ensure operations remain compliant with applicable environmental regulations.

This role will have a particular focus on supporting highly regulated West Coast operations, including facilities in California and Oregon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of corporate environmental standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments for proposed equipment, facility, and operational changes.
  • Evaluate potential impacts involving:
  • Stormwater
  • Wastewater
  • Chemical use and management
  • Air and other environmental considerations
  • Provide environmental guidance and feedback to engineering teams during project planning and implementation.
  • Develop permitting strategies for capital projects, operational changes, and facility modifications.
  • Prepare and complete environmental permit applications on behalf of manufacturing and other company facilities.
  • Monitor environmental regulatory requirements and changes.
  • Support compliance activities associated with highly regulated jurisdictions, particularly California.
  • Support environmental functions related to EEMS requirements.
  • Coordinate with local environmental personnel to ensure environmental requirements are understood and properly implemented.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or science-related discipline, such as:
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Biology
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Related scientific field
  • Experience evaluating environmental impacts associated with projects, facility changes, or manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and environmental teams.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance for manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of California environmental regulations.
  • Experience preparing environmental permit applications.
  • Experience evaluating environmental impacts associated with capital equipment installations or facility modifications.
Ideal Candidate
  • The ideal candidate has a strong environmental compliance background and is comfortable working directly with engineering teams on active manufacturing projects. They can review a proposed project, identify potential environmental impacts, determine whether permitting is required, and guide the project team toward a compliant solution.
  • Experience navigating California environmental regulations would be a significant advantage.

Work Location: Georgetown, KY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
