Apex Companies, LLC is seeking an Environmental Engineer 1 to join our growing team in Maryland. You will support field-based and design activities, helping to manage remediation projects and prepare technical reports under supervision.

This role emphasizes safety, data analysis, and collaborative problem-solving across projects. Ideal candidates bring a BS in Environmental Engineering, knowledge of remediation systems, and strong communication skills.

Competenze

• Field-based environmental engineering work including site inspections, sampling, testing, and analysis.
• Familiarity with remediation systems and field deployment.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports, proposals, and permitting documents.
• Proactive safety mindset and adherence to best practices on project sites.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites.

Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Engineer:

• Conduct field-based activities such as site inspections, sample collection, testing, and analysis
• Assist with installing, operating, and maintaining soil and groundwater remediation systems
• Manage and oversee subcontractors in the field
• Assist with project engineering design with Senior Engineer oversight
• Assist with writing technical reports, proposals, and permitting documents
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data
• Input data into template reports
• Ensure safe work practices on all project work.
• Actively develop your own career growth.

What we're looking for:

• BS in Environmental Engineering or equivalent
• EI Certification desired
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Familiarity with environmental remediation including soil, soil gas, and groundwater treatment systems
• 1+ years of related experience
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
• Excellent technical communication skills; strong attention to detail; field adeptness
• Strong safety record and understanding of safe work practices
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify, collect, organize, and document information and data.
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
• 50-75% fieldwork/travel to conduct field sampling activities and support system startups and trouble‑shooting project remediation sites.
• Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
