Job summary

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) in Michigan seeks a leader to manage the Enforcement Unit, develop escalated enforcement actions, and work with the Enforcement Review Team to evaluate referred cases. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, biological sciences, environmental health, engineering, geology, or related fields.
• Five years of professional engineering or scientific experience in environmental protection or enforcement.
• Experience at P11/12/13 level equivalents or higher is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff in the Enforcement Unit (EU).
• Develop and manage cases for escalated enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with the Enforcement Review Team to evaluate referred cases.
• Coordinate with DWEHD staff, DAG, and USEPA as needed to facilitate escalated actions.
• Oversee reporting obligations to USEPA, the Legislature, and EGLE Executive Office.
