In this critical role, you'll partner with experienced leaders and field teams to manage and execute emergency response services, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Your leadership will drive operations that are vital to safeguarding both people and the environment. Key Responsibilities:
As an Emergency Response Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of critical response efforts. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Safety: Direct and mentor field crews, ensuring adherence to Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and maintaining situational awareness of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) needs.
  • Emergency Response Coordination: As the First Team Out (FTO) you will ensure seamless communication within the Emergency Services Chain of Command.
  • Safety Compliance: Oversee safety practices on-site, enforcing compliance with Company safety rules and OSHA regulations. You’ll guide teams to work safely and efficiently while prioritizing health and safety.
  • Training & Development: Play a key role in training and supporting new team members, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of the job.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with both field personnel and clients. This includes providing updates on job status, following up on project requirements, and addressing client needs effectively.
  • Incident Reporting: Lead incident investigations by quickly reporting Health & Safety Incidents or near misses and actively contributing to the resolution process.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all response activities, including obtaining customer signatures and photographing work progress.
  • Project Execution: Ensure all projects are completed with attention to detail, from reviewing work plans and equipment needs to ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Flexibility: Availability to support emergency projects outside regular business hours, including weekends and on-call status as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, we’re seeking individuals with:

  • Experience: 2-4 years in a similar role within an Environmental Contracting Company or emergency response setting.
  • Certifications: A valid Driver’s License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and successful background check.
  • Safety Training: 40 Hours OSHA and related safety training (training provided). DOT Supervisory Drug & Alcohol Training (training provided). DOT Examiner’s Certificate (part of pre-employment testing).
  • Desirable Skills: CDL certification is a plus (but not required).
  • Work Ethic: A strong focus on safety, integrity, accountability, and quality in everything you do.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Must be flexible and available to work weekends and be on-call as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves a mix of physical and manual labor in diverse environments. The physical demands include:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold, and in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable wearing respirators as necessary for certain tasks – must maintain clean shave.
  • Travel and work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Perform manual labor, standing, walking, and exerting physical effort for 50-70% of the workday.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels in various environments.
