Job summary

Georgia 4‑H Center in Hampton, GA seeks an Academic Program Coordinator I to lead the on-site, day-to-day operation of the Fortson 4‑H environmental education program. You will hire and train seasonal EE staff, supervise programming, and ensure high‑quality experiences for K‑12 audiences, while coordinating schedules and safety practices.

You’ll develop curricula, manage facilities and records, and partner with school groups and cooperators.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
Experience coordinating environmental education programs.
Ability to supervise staff and manage daily operations.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership for on-site, day-to-day operation of the Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program at Fortson 4-H Center.
Hires and trains Environmental Education instructional staff and assists Center Director with training of Summer Camp staff.
Develops curricula and classes aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence.
Maintains teaching areas, lab, and educational farm; cares for resident reptiles, amphibians, livestock and poultry.
Maintains appropriate records and files related to environmental education.
Markets and promotes programs to schools and educators; works with education conferences and networks.
Assists Fortson 4-H Center Director with duties as assigned including operation of Canteen, scheduling staff, and on-call duties.
