Job summary

Enterris Associates is seeking an Environmental Due Diligence Specialist to support a Sound Transit capital project within Sound Transit's Environmental Planning, Permitting, Compliance and Due Diligence service area.

The role involves performing Phase I ESAs, coordinating Phase II investigations, and tracking environmental commitments through design, with occasional site visits to project corridors and properties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional licensure (Geologist or PE) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of Phase I ESA experience.
  • Experience with NEPA documentation.
  • Experience with environmental due diligence for public agency property acquisition or transit projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) per ASTM E1527-21 and coordinate Phase II investigations as needed.
  • Assess environmental liability on parcels to be acquired and expedite the due diligence process.
  • Track Record of Decision (ROD) environmental commitments and mitigation through design.
  • Conduct site reconnaissance, regulatory database reviews, historical records research, and interviews.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations for the acquisition and project teams.
  • Coordinate with right-of-way, property acquisition, and environmental planning staff.

Title: Environmental Due Diligence Specialist
Position Description

Enterris Associates is seeking an Environmental Due Diligence Specialist to support a Sound Transit capital project within Sound Transit's Environmental Planning, Permitting, Compliance and Due Diligence service area. This position performs environmental due diligence on parcels to be acquired, helps speed up the due diligence process, and tracks environmental commitments and mitigation through design. Occasional site visits along the project corridor and to properties may be required.

Essential Job Duties
  • Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with ASTM E1527-21, and coordinate Phase II investigations as needed.
  • Assess environmental liability on parcels to be acquired, and help expedite the due diligence process.
  • Track Record of Decision (ROD) environmental commitments and mitigation through design.
  • Conduct site reconnaissance, regulatory database reviews, historical records research, and interviews.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations for the acquisition and project teams.
  • Coordinate with right-of-way, property acquisition, and environmental planning staff.
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications
  • This position supports Sound Transit's Environmental Planning, Permitting, Compliance and Due Diligence service area.
  • 5+ years of experience performing Phase I ESAs, with Phase II coordination experience.
  • Meets the definition of an Environmental Professional under 40 CFR Part 312.
  • Experience with environmental due diligence for public agency property acquisition, preferably for transit or transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with NEPA documentation and tracking environmental commitments.
Education/Training/Certificates
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional licensure or certification (such as Licensed Geologist or Professional Engineer) is a plus.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Environmental database and records tools (such as EDR reports).
  • GIS tools (ArcGIS or similar).
  • Kahua or a similar PMIS a plus.
Compensation
  • This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $145,000.00 - $175,000.00 and commensurate with skill, education, experience, and work location.
  • This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
