Job summary

ERG is a research and consulting firm seeking an early career professional to support environmental and sustainability projects, including a clean energy grant program. You will manage datasets, assist applicants, and support client needs with grant software and databases.

Ideal candidates will develop and support data visualization tools, perform independent research and data analysis, and provide client services to advance environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience with environmental or sustainability data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
• Experience with data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense).
• Familiarity with energy efficiency, water conservation, and greenhouse gas inventories.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for reports and presentations.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
• Ability to take initiative, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review clean energy grant applications for eligibility and completeness.
• Process payment requests and interface with applicants through the grant process.
• Identify and communicate potential application errors to applicants and clients.
• Help develop and maintain a public-facing government data dashboard.
• Analyze and organize data to support greenhouse gas, energy, and water reduction projects.
• Research briefing materials on sustainability topics including decarbonization and electrification.
• Provide data analysis and technical communications support on environmental topics.
