Summary Statement
These two positions will assist Fisheries Biologists with fisheries research throughout Delaware that target a variety of invasive, freshwater, and diadromous species. Job duties for one position primarily entail assisting with the American Shad hatchery and collecting fish via gill netting, seining, and electrofishing, while the other entails stocking trout and identifying, monitoring, and treating aquatic vegetation. Both positions will sample water quality, assist with maintenance of scientific equipment, operate and trailer boats, enter data, and process biological samples. These positions will also assist with a variety of other fisheries research projects as needed. Work hours may include early morning, nighttime hours, and occasional weekends.
Essential Functions

Provides technical support in studies, surveys, inspections, and research projects. Collects field samples and data. Reviews permit applications and supplemental paperwork for approval or recommendation for disapproval. Operates and maintains vehicles, boats, and sampling equipment. Maintains accurate records and prepares reports. May assist in processing biological samples.
