Job summary

Swale Borough Council is seeking an experienced Contracts and Resources Manager to lead environmental contracts, including waste and recycling collection, street cleansing and public conveniences across the borough. The role supports hybrid working and requires attendance at sites and meetings outside normal hours.

You will manage performance, engage stakeholders and drive continuous improvements while coordinating with partner authorities and local communities.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large-scale contracts and service delivery operations.
• Experience in waste, recycling, street cleansing or related environmental service.
• Strong leadership and ability to drive performance improvements.
• Analytical skills for budget monitoring and KPI management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management and performance of key environmental contracts, including waste and recycling collection, street cleansing and public conveniences.
• Work with partner authorities, contractors, elected Members and communities to ensure high-quality services and value for money.
• Attend sites, meetings and coordinate across flexible hybrid working to meet business needs.
