Job summary

Sonoma Water seeks an Environmental Specialist I to support environmental compliance for water projects. You will help prepare CEQA/NEPA documents, conduct field assessments of habitats, and assist in permit applications while collaborating with planners, engineers, and consultants.

The role emphasizes environmental regulation, reporting, and coordinating across departments to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, or environmental sciences; 1 year of related experience.
• Experience with CEQA/NEPA compliance documents.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist CEQA/NEPA studies and permit applications.
• Perform field surveys of habitats and resources.
• Review studies and prepare tracking tools and reports.
• Stay updated on CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act requirements.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, contractors and consultants.
