Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist I for our Glenview, IL office to support compliance programs across systems and states.

You will schedule sampling, draft reports, review inspections, manage data, and advise plant staff on test procedures to ensure water quality compliance. The role requires a BA/BS in a relevant field and 2–4 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree required (Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences preferred)
• 2-4 years related water/wastewater operations or compliance experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data handling

Responsibilities

• Schedule sampling for all systems and ensure compliance with sampling requirements.
• Draft compliance reports and track data for reports.
• Review inspection reports and draft responses; coordinate with engineers and managers.
• Prepare and maintain sampling plans including bacteriological tests.
• Collect flow and pumping data from groundwater wells to ensure permit compliance.
• Communicate urgent water quality information to supervisors and customers.
• Oversee environmental programs including water and wastewater sampling across states.
• Other duties as assigned.
