Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, geology, engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of professional experience in environmental protection OR one year at the lower level (Specialist 1) or equivalent.
• Three years of professional experience for Specialist 3 OR one year at Specialist 2 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, learns to evaluate programs for compliance with environmental laws, rules, and regulations and recommend monitoring and corrective/enforcement actions.
• Supports learning and performing regulatory inspections and enforcement actions as assigned.
• Minimum education required includes a Bachelor's degree in a related field; strong writing and communication skills preferred.
