Job summary

EA is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to support a Federal Fuel Compliance Program, focusing on UST, fuel systems, and related regulatory tasks. This onsite role requires travel and oversight of subcontractor testing, plus field training of UST operators worldwide.

You will manage projects, perform regulatory reviews and coordinate with government agencies, developing permits and compliance plans across SPCC, SWPPP, and EMS programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field.
• 3–5 years of environmental compliance, regulatory and/or engineering experience with knowledge of federal/state regulations related to fuel storage and dispensing.
• Ability to pass a DoW security background check for CAC access to military facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental compliance projects including scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and subcontractor oversight.
• Conduct UST Operator Training and required regulatory training.
• Perform regulatory reviews, audits, assessments, and reporting.
• Coordinate with government agencies on environmental compliance matters.
• Develop permits and compliance plans (SPCC, SWPPP, air permits, EMS).
• Conduct AST, UST, and fuel pipeline compliance testing and leak strategy evaluations.
• Develop technical reports, training materials, contingency plans, and other deliverables.
• Support a broad range of EH&S and fuel facility compliance projects.

Position Overview

This is a unique position primarily responsible for supporting a Fuel Compliance Program for a Federal client, specifically related to Underground Storage Tank (UST) and Fuel System compliance. The position is to provide onsite support (requires travel) overseeing subcontractor environmental compliance testing and providing field training (UST Operator Training) of United States (US) military fuel systems throughout the world.

• Conduct UST Operator Training, regulatory-required training, and field-based fuel system leak detection testing.
• Perform regulatory reviews, compliance audits, assessments, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders and regulatory agencies on environmental compliance matters.
• Develop permits, compliance plans, and environmental programs, including SPCC, SWPPP, air permits, and EMS support.
• Conduct AST, UST, and fuel pipeline compliance, testing, and leak strategy evaluations.
• Develop technical reports, training materials, contingency plans, and other project deliverables.
• Support a broad range of environmental, health, safety, and fuel facility compliance projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related degree
• 3-5 years of environmental compliance, regulatory and/or engineering experience with working knowledge ad understanding of federal/state regulations as they apply to fuel storage, conveyance, and dispensing.
• Applicant will be required to pass a Department of War security background check in order to be granted a military Common Access Card (CAC) for accessing military facilities and providing escort privileges of subcontractors.

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Pay Range

$60,000 — $90,000 USD
