Environmental Compliance Project Manager
Location: Massachusetts
Salary Range: $135,000 - $165,000
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Project Manager to join a growing environmental consulting practice serving a diverse federal and commercial client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong environmental compliance professional who enjoys leading complex projects, mentoring staff, and helping grow a successful consulting practice.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of federal environmental compliance expertise, project management experience, and leadership capabilities, along with a proactive, client-focused approach. This individual will play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental compliance services while helping develop staff, support business development efforts, and strengthen client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance & Technical Leadership
- Lead and manage environmental compliance projects for federal and commercial clients.
- Conduct and oversee environmental compliance assessments, audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Provide technical expertise related to:
- Hazardous waste management
- Regulatory compliance programs
- Support clients in maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Provide technical review and QA/QC oversight on project deliverables.
- Assist with environmental permitting strategies and compliance planning.
- Support projects involving air compliance requirements as needed.
Project Management
- Manage large, multidisciplinary environmental projects from proposal through completion.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and work plans.
- Monitor project performance and ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients throughout project execution.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients.
Leadership & Business Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior environmental professionals.
- Support recruiting and team growth initiatives.
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and statements of work.
- Participate in business development efforts and client relationship management.
- Identify opportunities for additional client support and service expansion.
- Foster long-term relationships with federal and commercial clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- 8+ years of environmental consulting, environmental compliance, or EHS experience.
- Strong federal environmental compliance consulting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing large technical projects as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
- Experience performing QA/QC reviews of technical reports and deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Environmental compliance programs
- Hazardous waste regulations
- Environmental auditing and regulatory compliance
- Experience supervising technical staff and leading project teams.
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management skills
