Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks an Environmental Compliance lead for the Hermosa Project to provide leadership, oversee permits, and ensure operations comply with regulatory requirements, company standards, and sustainability commitments.

You will partner with operations, construction, and leadership to manage risks, implement EMS-aligned programs, and drive continuous improvement, safety, and environmental stewardship on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive environmental compliance experience in mining, energy, or infrastructure.
• Experience managing environmental compliance programs and regulatory requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.
• Willingness to work underground, at construction sites, and remote outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental leadership and compliance oversight for the Hermosa Project.
• Partner with operations, construction, technical services, and project leadership to manage environmental risks and promote environmental stewardship.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and company standards.
• Provide technical leadership on environmental compliance, permitting, risk management, and stewardship initiatives.
• Implement programs in alignment with Sustainability Policy, EMS, and corporate requirements.
• Promote safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement while meeting MSHA requirements.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, consultants, and industry bodies.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on changes to compliance programs and procedures.
• Communicate environmental concerns and risks to site leadership in a timely manner.
• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental procedures and programs to support compliance and operations.
• Lead audits, inspections, and corrective actions for company operations and contractors.
• Oversee environmental monitoring, data collection, and consultant activities for regulatory compliance.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate environmental reports, submissions, and permit applications.
