Job summary

Optimus Steel seeks an Environmental Specialist to coordinate the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensure regulatory compliance across all mill departments. You will work with the Environmental Manager to manage radiation safety, water and waste permits, and environmental reporting, while coordinating with contractors and plant personnel.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, and hands-on ability to monitor and improve environmental

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.

Responsibilities

Keep up to date with environmental regulations and training to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations.
Collect samples and maintain data for water, wastewater, storm water, groundwater, and potable water analyses.
Maintain environmental equipment and coordinate with staff and contractors on environmental requirements.
Coordinate and support Radiation Control Program, monitoring and response to radiation alarms.
Ensure EMS and environmental policy adherence and support remediation and compliance initiatives.
