Job summary

The Ohio Department of Development's Community Development Division is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist (Community Development Analyst) to perform audits and advise on compliance with state, local, and federal environmental regulations.

The role involves reviewing grant applications for environmental compliance, coordinating with federal and local agencies, and developing mitigation measures. It is a full-time, on-site position at 77 South High Street, Columbus, OH 43215.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate core program in business administration, public administration, city and regional planning, sociology, social services or political science.
• 12 months experience in planning, developing and/or implementing community and/or economic development programs.
• Must be able to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Reviews grant applications and projects for compliance with environmental regulations.
• Interacts with federal and local agencies regarding scope of project and site conditions.
• Develops measures to mitigate adverse environmental effects.
• Prepares environmental review records in compliance with regulations.
• Researches and writes environmental review reports.
• Provides technical assistance to local officials on environmental review records.
