Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Wheat Ridge, CO is seeking an environmental Lab Technician to join the General Chemistry team.

The position focuses on wet chemistry testing and sample preparation, following SGS SOPs, with independent work and teamwork to meet daily production targets and ensure hold and turnaround times. Candidates should have a high school diploma with chemistry lab exposure; an Associate's in Chemistry is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 0-2 years of analytical chemistry lab experience (Required).
• Associates Degree in Chemistry and 1-2 years of relevant lab experience preferred.
• Advanced English language skills (Required).
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required).
• Basic computer skills (Required).
• Ability to lift/carry/pull up to 25 lbs (Required).

Responsibilities

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipmentMay assist with validation and MDL studies
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties as required
