Job summary

Environment New Hampshire seeks a Conservation Advocate to protect New Hampshire’s forests, lakes and parks, wildlife, and promote clean energy solutions. You will advocate to eliminate bee-killing pesticides, shape policy, build coalitions, organize events, recruit volunteers, and engage media.

Location: Manchester or Concord, NH; compensation around $40,000–$46,000 with strong benefits. Environment New Hampshire offers training, opportunities for advancement and a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• An advocate or organizer with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degrees may count toward experience.
• An effective communicator with excellent writing and public speaking skills.
• A people person with a track record of recruiting volunteers and building coalitions.
• Creative, strategic thinker able to adapt to new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Advocate to end bee-killing pesticides and promote clean energy in New Hampshire.
• Shape program priorities through policy development, research and messaging.
• Build coalitions across organizations and constituencies.
• Organize events to educate and recruit volunteers.
• Earn traditional and social media attention for campaigns.
• Lobby decision-makers, testify at hearings, and produce materials.
• Write grant proposals and cultivate donors to support campaigns.
• Identify and recruit strong candidates to join the staff and interns.
