Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking an Environmental and Safety Coordinator to support safety programs, OSHA training, and regulatory compliance at our manufacturing sites. The role focuses on ensuring environmental permits are followed, and safety initiatives are implemented across the facility.

The successful candidate will coordinate training, inspections, and reporting, with emphasis on Air/Wastewater permits and EPCRA/SARA compliance, while working within a team to uphold all regulatory

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1 year in QA, food production, agriculture.
  • Bachelor degree in Safety and Environmental, Engineering, Agriculture, Industrial Management or related field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Darling Ingredients Safety programs including OSHA training for new employees and annual refreshers.
  • Conducts training on environmental compliance, site inspections, sampling, log review, and reporting to ensure permit compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with Air and Wastewater permits, SPCC, EPCRA, and other environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors environmental control equipment operation and supports environmental sampling and reporting as needed.

Job Summary

The Environmental and Safety Coordinator works within the manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with facility environmental permits and all required safety programs.

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Administers Darling Ingredients Safety programs which includes, but is not limited to, conducting OSHA safety training for new employees, annual training of employees, monthly safety committee facility walk-through, and advising safety committee in accident review processes. Conducts training of employees in environmental compliance, site inspections, sampling, log review, and report preparation to ensure compliance in the following: Air Permit Wastewater Permits (LAS or Sewer) Storm water Permits and Pollution Prevention (SWPP) Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) EPCRA (SARA) Compliance and Reporting Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Boiler Permits Business and Operating Licenses Ensures compliance with local, state and federal environmental and safety regulations. Ensures proper monitoring and operation of environmental control equipment (air, water). Collects and performs environmental monitoring/sampling/reporting as necessary to comply with permits. All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 1 year of experience (2 years ) in quality assurance, food production, agriculture, or related field. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Safety and Environmental, Engineering, Agriculture, Industrial Management or related field is . Highly organized; superior time management skills. Exceptional communication skills both written and oral. Self-motivated; self-starter; able to multi-task. Works well with others in a team environment. Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
