Job summary

LSB Chemical L.L.C. in El Dorado, AR is seeking an Environmental Analyst to perform environmental inspections, data collection and regulatory reporting under minimal supervision. You will handle solid/hazardous waste, air quality, and wastewater programs, and develop SWPPPs and SPCC plans.

Responsibilities include coordinating testing, incident investigations, and reporting such as Tier II, GHG and TRI, with emphasis on CEMS familiarity and strict compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field.
  • 3–5 years of job-related processing experience.
  • Experience in chemical, refining, nuclear, pulp and paper or heavy industrial environment preferred.
  • Familiar with CEMS units, operation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations and permits for solid/hazardous waste, hazardous materials, NPDES/POTW, and air quality (Title V).
  • Develop and implement SWPPPs and SPCC plans.
  • Monitor air quality tasks such as NSPS, Title V permitting, and Consent Decree reporting.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare annual reporting including Tier II, GHG, AEI and TRI.
  • Coordinate test sampling for wastewater/injection wells, OOWA/Sewer, and air related activities.
  • Assist in DMR, groundwater and injection well reports.
  • Coordinate site solid waste, universal waste and hazardous waste programs.
  • Perform required CEMS tasks including maintenance and quarterly reports.
  • Participate in multi-departmental meetings, incident investigations, and permit reviews.

This small town has a lot of spirit!Position Summary:The Environmental Analyst reports to the Environmental Manager and conducts environmental assignments and duties for the Environmental department under minimal supervision. They are responsible for environmental inspections, record-keeping, data collection and evaluation, and regulatory reporting.Job Duties:Ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations and permits for solid/hazardous waste, hazardous materials, NPDES/POTW, and air quality (Title V).Development and implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plansManage the performance of air quality related work such as NSPS, Title V permitting, and Consent Decree reporting and data collection requirements.Interact with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.Prepare annual reporting including Tier II, GHG, AEI and TRI.Coordinate test sampling for wastewater/injection well, OOWA/Sewer, and air related.Assist is preparation of DMR, groundwater and injection well reportsAssist in coordinating the site solid waste, universal waste and hazardous waste programs.Perform required CEMS tasks such as daily CEMS maintenance, scheduling of third-party monthly maintenance or as needed, quarterly CGAs, annual RATA tests, and quarterly excess emissions/downtime reports.Participate in multi-departmental meetings, environmental incident investigations, Root Cause Analyses and Corrective Actions, permit and plan reviews and PSM processes as needed.Perform other tasks as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or related field.3-5 years of job-related processing experiencePrevious work experience in a chemical, refining, nuclear, pulp and paper or heavy industrial environment.Must be familiar with CEMS units, their operation, daily tasks and regulatory requirements associated with such equipment.Work Environment & Physical Demands:Requires periods of extended sitting and standing. Continual movement throughout shifts.Periods of working in the elements and an outdoor environment (extreme heat, cold, wet and/or humid conditions).Occasional work in close proximity to chemical processes wit toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles, fumes, extreme heat and cold, vibration and electrical hazards.Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including FR uniform, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, fall protection harnesses, chemical exposure suits are required in designated areas as well as a full-face respirator as necessary in emergencies.Must be able to lift 25 lbs.Special Attention: This position is safety and security sensitive in nature.This position deals with hazardous materials and/or industrial processes that can pose a risk to employees and the general public.
