Overview

ENVIRONMENTAL AIR SPECIALIST / PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Kansas City, MO or Omaha, NE

Job type: Full-Time / Permanent

Our global EPC Firm client is hiring an Environmental Air Specialist/Project Manager for a full-time opportunity in Kansas City, MO, or Omaha, NE. The Environmental Air Specialist / Project Manager will work within the Environmental Services Division.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare air permit application packages and associated documentation.
  • Conduct environmental site assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state and federal air quality requirements.
  • Calculate and estimate routine emissions, greenhouse gases, maintenance, start-up and shutdown emissions.
  • Work with clients and team members to manage projects, budgets and timelines.
  • Assist with multi-media-based questions and document preparation, such as Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and filings pursuant to the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related Science or Engineering degree from an accredited program plus minimum 7 years (10 years preferred) of applicable experience. Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
  • Previous consulting experience related to air pollution permitting and compliance and/or multimedia environmental compliance audits, environmental management systems, and report writing preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations with emphasis on the Clean Air Act, including New Source Review/Prevention of Significant Deterioration, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, New Source Performance Standards, Title V Permitting, Title VI Ozone Depleting Substances.
  • Working knowledge of air quality dispersion models such as AERMOD, AERSCREEN, CALPUFF, VISCREEN, PLUVUE and SLAB is a plus.
  • Sustainability background is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.
  • Proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
