Join to apply for the Environmental Aide I - Per Diem (8:00a-4:00p) HMC role at Atlantic Health System.

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) at Hackettstown Medical Center. Required hours are 8:00AM - 4:00PM, including rotating weekends.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  1. Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patient rooms (including bathrooms), and other designated areas, including floors, woodwork, vents, sinks, furniture, and public bathrooms.
  2. Checks EVS cart, ensuring proper chemical supplies are stocked with all bottles properly labeled and dated.
  3. Ensures sufficient paper supplies are stocked in all bathrooms.
  4. Removes trash, transports soiled linens to linen room, and distributes clean linens to patient areas.
  5. Follows directions for cleaning solution preparation and handling of bio-hazard materials.
  6. Adheres to policies on cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorization.
  7. Demonstrates proficiency in safety protocols regarding blood borne pathogens, needle stick prevention, fire safety, and other regulatory standards.
  8. Performs environmental checks in assigned areas.
  9. Cleans spills and responds promptly to pages.
  10. Performs cleaning of bodily fluids as required.
  11. Uses basic computer and electronic technology for communication and applications.
  12. Attends departmental meetings to stay updated on environmental services.
  13. Handles moderately complex issues and reports repairs to maintenance.
Requirements
  1. HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or to be obtained within 1 year of employment.
  2. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  3. Ability to apply basic math functions.
  4. Ability to work under time constraints.
  5. Must be able to stand for most of the shift.
  6. Exposure to extreme temperatures, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Relevant Experience
  1. Previous hospital/healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.
  2. Previous floor-care experience preferred.
