Job Description

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours are: 3:30PM - 11:30PM, including every other weekend and on-call (as needed).

This position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative (specific shifts)

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Perform general cleaning tasks such as emptying trash, dusting, mopping floors, sanitizing furniture in inpatient rooms, cleaning bathrooms, and discarding debris.
  • Replace soiled linen with fresh linen in patient rooms.
  • Work at both Overlook Medical Center and Union Campus.
  • Handle cleaning of bodily fluids as part of the job responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or to be obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to provide a safe environment for patients.
  • Solid work history is required.
  • Must meet fit testing requirements.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be 16 or older; prior to hire, must complete NJA300 Certification Form/Working Papers.
  • Valid working papers required if aged 16 or 17.
Relevant Experience:
  • Experience in hospital or institutional housekeeping preferred.
  • Floor-care experience is preferred.
