Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Lead Environmental Compliance professional to oversee regulatory compliance across operations, maintenance, projects, and emergency response in Clinton, Mississippi. You will drive environmental objectives and manage permits, tracking, and reporting for air, water, and waste, including EPCRA and SPCC requirements.

You will guide teams, provide training, coordinate inspections and agency interactions, and lead post-incident monitoring and remediation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environment or related field required.
  • 4+ years environmental experience, preferably in pipeline, industry, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Candidates without a university degree require an additional 3 years of related experience, totaling 7+ years.
  • Familiarity with environmental assessment methodologies, permitting requirements, and environmental protection best practices.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and organizational levels.
  • Strategic, innovative, and self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
  • High integrity and alignment to Enbridge values.
  • Knowledge of Enbridge’s business and culture considered an asset.
  • Ability to support emergency response activities through the Incident Command System (ICS).
  • Ability to travel regularly, approximately 40%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental compliance activities across operations, maintenance, projects, and emergency response efforts.
  • Support achievement of environmental objectives and goals.
  • Handle environmental permitting, compliance tracking, and regulatory reporting for air, water, waste, land management, EPCRA, and SPCC requirements.
  • Provide guidance, procedures, and support resources.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits, agency interactions, emissions testing, and fugitive emissions monitoring.
  • Support emergency response activities through ICs, including directing remedial actions and advising on environmental regulations and technologies.
  • Maintain required certifications.
  • Develop and deliver environmental awareness initiatives, training programs, outreach materials, and resources.
  • Lead post-incident monitoring, remediation, regulatory reporting, and closure activities.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
