Xcel Energy is seeking an Environment Lead to manage readiness for multiple test activities and phases across SAP S/4HANA CIS landscapes. You will ensure environments are loaded with correct data and code, coordinating across development, QA, staging, training, and production.

The role requires 7+ years of techno-functional experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to align vendors and schedules to a single coordinated plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of techno-functional experience in enterprise systems or transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of core business processes and system-enabled workflows.
  • Experience with functional design, configuration guidance, testing, and system troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.

Responsabilités

  • Own the integrated environment calendar across the SAP S/4HANA CIS landscape (development, quality systems, staging, training and production) and edge system non-production environments.
  • Coordinate environment readiness for each test cycle, including builds, connectivity, certificates, security hand-off and go/no-go checks.
  • Orchestrate CI/CD and transport movement, keeping code and configuration aligned across environments.
  • Plan and run data refreshes, client copies and database copies, and coordinate data population for conversion, bill compare, testing and training.
  • Run environment booking, conflict resolution and change control so shared environments stay stable and predictable.
  • Coordinate with SAP (RISE), Itron, Avaya and other vendors on environment setup, refresh windows and outages.
  • Work closely with test and delivery leads.

Xcel Energy supports a hybrid work model to enable collaboration and flexibility. Many roles are expected to work onsite three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday); however, work location expectations vary based on role, team, and business needs.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for environment readiness for the multiple test activities and phases including mock conversions, bill compare runs, integration test cycles, UAT, operational readiness testing and dress rehearsals. Environment readiness includes the right environments being ready, loaded with the right data and code, at the right time. The Environment Lead is the point of coordination for that work.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of techno-functional experience in enterprise systems or transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of core business processes and system-enabled workflows.
  • Experience with functional design, configuration guidance, testing, and system troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple functional tasks and collaborate cross functionally.
Preferred Requirements
  • SAP S/4HANA, RISE with SAP or SAP BTP environment experience.
  • Utility industry or CIS modernization experience.
  • Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow and DevOps tooling.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for SAP or Salesforce.
  • Very strong coordination and orchestration skills, with a proven record of aligning many technical environments, vendors and schedules to a single coordinated plan.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $112,200.00 to $159,400.00 per year
