Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to strengthen safety, environmental compliance, and process safety across fabrication and assembly operations. You will collaborate with management and department leaders to create protocols, assess hazards, and promote a culture of safety.

The role requires hands-on safety program management, incident investigations, and multi-program oversight including lockout/tagout and PPE.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing safety role.
  • Bilingual communication preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/EPA standards (local, state, federal).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for safety messaging.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and safety management software.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends when required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety audits to identify hazards and minimize risks.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and programs meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver safety training for employees and management.
  • Lead training for new hires and annual requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
  • Manage lockout/tagout, confined space, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication, and PIT safety programs.
  • Collaborate with Safety Committee and lead safety awareness initiatives.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning, evacuations, drills and lighting.

Title: Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Overview:

The EHS Specialist supports Global Power Components' commitment to providing a safe, compliant, and highperforming manufacturing environment. This role enhances safety and environmental processes across GPC's largescale fabrication and assembly operations. This role requires close collaboration with management and departmental leaders to develop safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and promote a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safety audits to identify and minimize safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct safety training for employees and management on various safety topics and best practices tailored to the organizational needs.
  • Deliver training for new hires, annual requirements, and job specific procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Manage programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazard communication, and PIT safety.
  • Safety Committee collaboration, lead employee meetings, collaborate to promote safety awareness and encourage employee engagement.
  • Emergency response planning, evacuation protocols, fire drills, and emergency lighting.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2+ years of handson experience in a similar role, particularly within manufacturing.
  • Bilingual communication ability is preferred but will consider others.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety/environmental (OSHA, EPA) standards (local, state, federal, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support consistent and effective safety messaging across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and safety management software.
  • Willingness and ability to work all shifts, including weekends, when required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and generate comprehensive reports.
