Job summary

Nemak seeks an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager for its Kentucky plant. You will develop and implement safety programs, review policies, and lead risk assessments to safeguard workers and operations.

You will coordinate training, investigate incidents, and prepare monthly reports for senior leadership, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of HSE leadership are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manager-level HSE experience.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing practices, regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Managers are responsible for developing and implementing plant safety programs. They review and update plant HSE policies and conduct risk assessments to detect potential hazards and plan precautionary measures. Main Responsibilities

• Developing Safety Management Policies - HSE Managers evaluate the workplace environment and develop safety-management policies that identify and define the safety responsibilities of all employees. This involves assessing the nature of business activities, number of employees and existing policies.
• Coordinating Training Programs - To continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the organization, HSE Managers coordinate training programs for employees.
• Investigating Workplace Incidents - Although HSE Managers are charged with enhancing workplace safety, some incidents might not be detected during risk assessments. An HSE Manager investigates such incidents, establishes the causes and recommends preventive action against a recurrence. HSE Managers also ensure that workplace tools and equipment meet industry standards and installed properly, as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
• Preparing Reports - An HSE Manger prepares monthly reports and makes presentations to senior administrators. A typical HSE report indicates day-to-day workplace inspection results and workers' response to safety incidents. HSE reports can be analyzed to detect weaknesses in the safety management program.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related
• 5+ years' manager level HSE experience
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing practices, regulatory agency requirements and industry standards
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs
• OSHA 10 & 30 trained, OSHA 500, ASP, and CSP a plus
• Strong skills in Risk Assessment and ISO Management Systems
