Summary Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. Pay Range: $72,700 - $121,200

Job Description Summary

Supports research activities, including providing technical assistance, testing, data gathering and analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and run analytical instruments in the lab. Perform daily maintenance on, but not limited to : GC, GC/MS, Purge/Trap , Auto-tiration , unit, UV-Vis spectrometer , TOC, DCS, microwatt calorimeter and other instruments on the lab; to use the above instruments.

  • Support the Soil and Groundwater business by being capable of performing all analyses (instrument/wet analytical procedure) on oncoming and treatable soil and groundwater samples to determine the amount of Peroxychem oxidants needed to cleanup organic contaminants during the study.

  • Follow detailed work plans for commercial and R&D soil and groundwater treatability studies.

  • Maintain and properly dismantle studies upon completion

  • Follow sampling procedures for commercial and R&D studies

  • Prepare accuarate chemical solutions

  • Perform precise weighing and measurements of solids and liquids , measurements of pH, redox potential, dissolved oxygen

  • Perform Mathematical calculations, inclusind but not limited to percentages, mass, molar concentrations .


REQUIREMENTS

  • ‘Bachelors with 5 years experience, graduate degree preferred, in chemistry, environmental chemistry or similar degree.

  • Prepare samples with dilutions , extract and setup on the Gas Chromatographs for analysis

  • Draft Interim and final reports for clients summarizing procedures and all laboratory results

  • Write/review proposals for commercial treatability tests

  • Work with clients and colleagues to develop work plans for various treatability studies

  • Suggest procedural improvements

  • Maintain accurate , concise laboratory notes
