Job summary

Tension Envelope Corporation in Des Moines, IA is hiring an Envelope Machine Adjuster/Mechanic to maintain and operate envelope manufacturing equipment, ensure quality products, and perform preventive maintenance. You will handle machine set-up, troubleshoot issues, and respond quickly under pressure while balancing multiple tasks.

All training is provided; starting pay is $21.06 per hour with increases after 3 months, and top pay is achieved after 30 months as union-regulated compensation.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• General math skills including ability to read a ruler to 1/16th of an inch.
• Ability to operate computer-controlled equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and produce quality products.

The Envelope Machine Adjuster / Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and producing quality products. Duties include machine set-up, problem solving, a focus on quality and manufacturing process, preventive maintenance and more. This position is responsible for ensuring that a variety of industrial equipment, such as machines and manufacturing tools, are kept clean and working efficiently. The Adjuster must be able to make timely decisions while under pressure and has the ability to multi-task in an environment where several tasks must be completed simultaneously.

All training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older
• Attention to Detail
• General math skills including ability to read a ruler to 1/16th of an inch
• Operate computer-controlled equipment

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, use repetitive hand/wrist movement
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Other required abilities include verifying color and print quality
