Responsibilities

EVS/ HOUSEKEEPER - PER DIEM NIGHT

This position provides a variety of support services in the areas of transportation, environmental services, security, and maintenance for Del Amo Behavioral Health Systems. Responsibilities include maintaining orderly and sanitary conditions of the facility, cleaning and servicing the facility and ground areas; protecting life and property of all persons on facility premises; patrolling building and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism; securing, unlocking and protecting the building; responding to security needs of facility personnel and guests; and assisting the front lobby reception during visiting hours to ensure that contraband is checked.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred; On-The-Job Training provided
  • Completion of Security Training program or equivalent preferred

Credential:

  • Valid California Driver's License Class C to drive hospital/facility vehicles or on hospital business

Experience:

  • Experience working in behavioral health preferred
  • Previous experience in environmental services (hospital/hotel industry) preferred
  • Two (2) years in a hospital environment preferred

Minimum requirements of the position:

  • Must demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to the job (e.g., van/driver training) within the first three (3) months of training, and annually thereafter
  • Must complete all required mandatory in-services annually
  • Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x-ray tri-annually thereafter
  • Must be certified in Handle With Care training within the first three (3) months of hire and annually thereafter if assigned to Security or Transportation duties
