Job summary

Hill Crest Behavioral Health in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Environmental Services / House Keeper to perform cleaning and laundry tasks in a hospital setting. You must be available for an 8-business day orientation from 8a-4p without interruptions, and prior EVS experience in a medical environment is required on your resume.

A background check and drug screen are also required. The role reports to the Environmental Service Manager/Plant Operations Director.

Qualifications

• Valid HS Diploma/GED Required.
• Previous Environmental Services / House Keeper experience in a medical environment required.
• Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition.
• Disposes trash and waste daily.
• Handles cleaning solvents and chemicals per safety rules.
• Follows safety protocols in housekeeping tasks.
• Assists with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge (List the minimum required specific knowledge and skills necessary to perform this job. (e.g., basic accounting principles, computer programming, spreadsheets, specific healthcare processes, etc.

The ability to read and implement written instructions and the ability to understand and implement oral instructions.

Ability to operate the floor machine, auto scrubber, vacuum, extraction equipment, washer, and dryer, lawn mowers, other gardening equipment and any other equipment necessary to perform the assigned task.

Knowledge in routine maintenance and complete floor care at a medical facility, including but not limited to carpeting, painting, masonry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration, general mechanics, and gardening.

Basic Computer skills

Ability to stand, bend, walk, climb a 6-foot ladder, lift up to 75 pounds and to withstand the physical strains from the use of all required equipment.

Ability to measure the proper solutions as related to the specific task.
