Job summary

Clean Harbors in Dolton, IL is hiring a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to provide environmental services including collection, disposal of damaged, recalled, or discarded products; recycling of light bulbs, oil and fluids; and on-site cleanup at retail locations.

As a Box Truck driver you will load, transport, and label materials, prepare DOT shipping documents, and engage with customers while using a laptop and handheld devices.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license required.
• By position, eligible to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire, company paid.
• Strong customer service skills.
• The ability to use a laptop, handheld, printer, and iPhone are required.
• Perform background check, drug test, and physical as required by position.
• Respiratory protection rules under OSHA apply to roles requiring respirators.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority and follow safe work practices.
• Pick up, pack and transport damaged, discarded goods and recalled products.
• Load, pack and segregate materials and waste for transport.
• Drive a Box Truck and visit retail customer sites.
• Prepare DOT shipping documents and maintain compliant records.
• Interact with customers at each stop and document interactions.
• Use a laptop, handheld device, printer, and iPhone to complete tasks.
• Perform on-site projects per site, federal, state and local regs and company policies.
• Operate vehicles safely per DOT/local/federal requirements.
• Support additional duties as assigned.
