Job summary

Clean Harbors in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Class B or A Driver (Retail Technician) to provide environmental services including waste collection, disposal, and on-site cleanup at customer locations. The role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks as required by the role.
• Able to pass background check, drug test and medical/physical exam.
• Follow OSHA/EPA/DOT rules and safety procedures.
• Comply with Respiratory Protection standards and facial hair policy.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in all tasks and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks and housekeeping.
• Package waste chemicals properly and ensure ship readiness.
• Operate vehicles in compliance with DOT and safety guidelines.
• Support sites and customers with environmental services and cleanup.
