Choctaw Defense Manufacturing (CDMFG) in McAlester, OK is seeking an entry-level Welder I to support welding operations on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel using GMAW or GTAW under supervision. Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment welding qualification test.
• Foundational welding techniques and safety knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

• Experience with deburring, grinding, beveling, and part cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Learn welding operations on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless.
• Set up welding equipment and calibrate for each project.
• Control parameters (amperage, voltage, slope, pulse) per specs.
• Guide electrode or gun along weld line with precision.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions accurately.
• Inspect welds for bead size and specifications.
• Align and secure workpieces; assemble jigs/fixtures.
• Select torch, tip, filler, and flux per welding chart.
• Remove slag or splatter; ensure smooth finish.
• Perform maintenance on welding equipment.
• Contribute to quality control and reporting of anomalies.
• Participate in training and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
