Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Welder 1 Technician to perform routine welding and fabrication assignments with growing independence. You will interpret drawings, set up equipment, and complete joints to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2 years’ experience and the ability to pass FCAW 3G and GMAW 1G tests. The company offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience or equivalent
• Must pass FCAW 3G and GMAW 1G tests
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Experience with routine welding and fabrication processes

Responsibilities

• Interpret routine drawings and weld symbols for assigned work
• Prepare joints, fit and tack assemblies, verify gaps and alignment
• Set up welding equipment and parameters within approved ranges
• Perform welding, fitting, cutting, grinding, and finishing to meet quality standards
• Self-inspect weld size and appearance and correct issues per procedures
• Maintain safe hot-work setup and clean work area for the next operation
• Update markings and traveler steps and communicate blockers clearly
