Aerotek in Columbus, OH is hiring an Entry Level Welder/Fabricator for a contract-to-hire role in our manufacturing data farm. You will tack-weld, prepare steel coupons, and operate CNC saws to support AI welding software development and robotic weld cells.

No prior welding experience is required as training is provided to perform work safely and effectively, with opportunities to grow into advanced fabrication or weld cell roles within the team.

Job Title: Entry Level Welder/Fabricator

Job Description

This role is based in a specialized data farm department where you help create the materials used to train proprietary AI welding software and robotic weld cells. You will tack-weld steel coupons and use CNC equipment to produce parts that directly support the development of advanced welding automation. Prior welding experience is not required, as you will receive comprehensive training to perform the work safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Tack-weld steel coupons according to established procedures to support training of proprietary AI welding software.
• Operate CNC saws and CNC tooling stations to cut and prepare steel coupons and related parts.
• Perform basic fabrication tasks, including layout, fitting, and assembly of parts as needed for production.
• Assist in the creation and preparation of materials used to train welding robots and automated weld cells.
• Follow blueprints and production drawings to ensure accurate dimensions and proper fit of components.
• Work within a manufacturing data farm department, supporting production goals and workflow across multiple bays.
• Inspect workpieces for quality, accuracy, and consistency, and make adjustments to meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and equipment operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and support continuous improvement.
• Learn and apply new fabrication and welding techniques over time to support expansion into additional bays and product lines.

Work Environment

You work in a clean, organized, and well-ventilated manufacturing facility that houses a dedicated data farm department. The environment is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons, but the workspace is designed for efficient production and safe equipment operation. You will spend most of your time in the data farm area, using CNC saws, CNC tooling stations, welding equipment, and robotic welders to support ongoing production and training of AI-driven welding systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
