Job summary

Golden State Water Company is seeking a Water Supply Operator I to join our California team. This entry-level role involves operating and monitoring pumping systems, chemical feed, and water storage, with duties in measurement, sampling, and basic calculations for dosing and flow.

Candidates should be prepared for 24/7 emergency response and after-hours work as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, familiarity with Windows and basic software, and a California driver

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Familiar with computer applications such as Windows, word processing, spreadsheets and the Internet.
SWRCB Water Distribution Operator 1 certification – required if applicant does not hold a valid T1 certification.
SWRCB Water Treatment Plant Operator 1 certification preferred at time of hire, or must obtain within 18 months of employment or position start date.
Good communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
Valid California driver license.

Responsibilities

Operates and monitors water supply and treatment equipment such as pumping systems, chemical feed systems, water storage facilities and measuring/control systems.
Assists with maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
Performs water level measurements on groundwater wells and collects samples for analyses.
Performs calculations related to dosing, flow rates, pressure and other measurements.
Responds to emergencies and may require after-hours work in a 24/7 operation.
