Job summary

The City of Seguin is seeking an entry-level Skilled Trades/Mechanical Helper to assist with maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment at SSLGC water facilities. Under the Water Systems Superintendent, you will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while developing mechanical skills.

This role requires basic mechanical knowledge, the ability to document work in CMMS, and the willingness to work outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical principles and operation of pumps, motors, valves, and power transmission equipment.
• Safe use and care of hand and power tools.
• Lockout/tagout safety knowledge; ADA compliance training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and replacing pumps, motors, valves and related equipment at SSLGC plants and sites.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and report equipment deficiencies to supervisor.
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and equipment condition in SSLGC's CMMS.
