Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to work on call, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of water and wastewater lines, valves, hydrants, meters, and related infrastructure.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on water and sewer systems, lift stations, and equipment.
  • Respond to service calls, leaks, line breaks, sewer backups, and other utility emergencies.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment in support of public works operations.
  • Read and follow work orders, maps, and basic system layouts.
  • Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and service requests.
