Job summary

American Water is seeking an entry-level Associate, Project Delivery Engineer to support design, project management and operational tasks for water and wastewater systems. You will collaborate with engineers, technicians and CAD operators to ensure reliable service and timely project delivery.

The role emphasizes basic engineering design principles, regulatory awareness, and strong communication. Travel up to 20% may be required; primarily office-based with occasional field work at facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field of Engineering.
• 0-2 years' experience in Engineering design, planning, construction, project delivery and/or project management.
• Water system and wastewater collection system hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (commercial and environmental), industry standards, and trends.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering design theory and practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in water and wastewater engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring on time delivery within scope and budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, designs, and specifications for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, and pumping stations.
• Conduct system capacity evaluations and analyses to support ongoing operations and growth opportunities.
• Assist with multiple small to medium size projects and varied engineering assignments in planning, design or construction.
• Develop technical information into feasible engineering approaches.
• Perform other special projects as assigned by team leads or managers.
