Job summary

City of Clarksville is seeking an entry-level Customer Service Field Technician to inspect, install, and repair water measurement infrastructure. You will respond to service requests, document activities, and support water and gas services installations.

This role requires a High school diploma or GED and a valid Class D driver’s license. You will work with ServiceLink software, maintain logs, and rotate on-call duties for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may satisfy.
• Knowledge of utility systems and customer service principles is required.
• Ability to read GIS information and operate computers/software.
• Experience with recordkeeping and reporting is preferred.
• Valid Class D Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, and repair water meters and related equipment.
• Use ServiceLink software to complete work orders and plan routes efficiently.
• Connect or disconnect water and gas services per procedures, including non-payment cases.
• Light gas pilots in customers' homes (e.g., fireplaces, water heaters).
• Maintain operation records, logs, and weekly reports; track inventory.
• Restock supplies and equipment as needed for daily work.
• Be available for after-hours on-call emergencies on a rotating basis.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
