Job summary

The City of Sidney is hiring an Equipment Operator for the Water Distribution department. You will operate, maintain, and repair the distribution system as part of the Underground Utilities crew. The role requires readiness to assist in other utilities as needed.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain within 12 months), and residency as required. Emergency callouts are expected outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Underground Utilities or closely related field is desirable.
• Possession or ability to possess an Ohio EPA Class I Distribution license within 18 months of hire.
• Residency as required by the City.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair the City’s water distribution system.
• Perform field duties, assignments, assessments, and repairs as part of the Underground Utilities crew.
• Respond promptly to emergencies outside normal hours as a public employee.
