Job summary

New Braunfels Utilities is seeking an entry-level Plant Operator I for the wastewater treatment facilities in New Braunfels, Texas. You will learn to operate controls, perform basic laboratory tests, and assist with maintenance under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a Class D wastewater license within one year, with Class C licenses to be completed before expiration of the D license. The position is full-time and on-site at multiple plants.

Qualifications

• Required Field of Study: General Studies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust controls on wastewater treatment equipment and machinery.
• Perform process control laboratory tests for chlorine residuals, pH, temperature, ammonia, phosphorus, TSS, and dissolved oxygen.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance of treatment plant equipment.
• Move 30-yard trailers to level biosolids in belt filter press process.
• Monitors wastewater system through SCADA and responds to alarms.
• Record and log meter readings, chemical usage, and operating conditions daily.
• Calibrate analyzers and laboratory equipment as required.
