Job summary

The Coffeyville waste­water utility is seeking an entry-level Wastewater Utility Worker I to assist with routine maintenance and construction tasks under direct supervision. The role focuses on sewer line repair, cleaning, and related activities to support city infrastructure.

Incumbents will perform duties with guidance, gaining experience in locating lines, operating equipment, and basic testing and inspections as part of the city’s wastewater operations.

Qualifications

• Entry level position with limited or no prior related work experience.
• Requires ability to follow established procedures under supervision.
• Must be able to perform routine wastewater maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in wastewater construction and maintenance activities.
• Assist in repair and maintenance of sewer lines and manholes.
• Locate sewer lines and assist with sewer taps and cleaning operations.
• Operate basic construction equipment and use safety gear.
• Support in testing of equipment and inspections.
