Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company in North Carolina is seeking a warehouse worker to supervise basic inventory tasks and perform material handling within the Plant department. You will move, tag, and stage metals, operate forklifts or cranes, and ensure accuracy and safety in daily shipments and receiving.

The role requires ability to follow detailed instructions, basic math, and strong manual dexterity. A high school diploma is preferred, and certification to operate machinery may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Basic measurement skills, including length/width/height and weight.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate decimals and fractions.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to meet MVR quality criteria as defined by regulations and policy.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Move inventory or equipment, fill orders, and help maintain warehouse upkeep.
• Receive, place/return items into stock locations.
• Pull and assemble orders from documentation.
• Tag material for identification and document accordingly.
• Move material using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Sort material by size, type, or product code.
• Perform daily or ad hoc inventory checks.
• Report irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Restock material.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
