Job summary

Piedmont Metals in Burlington, NC is seeking a Material Handler to join our team. You will operate forklifts, lulls, and cranes to move material around the yard and shop, and assist with loading and unloading trucks of raw stock and finished products.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of material handling experience, are comfortable reading a tape measure, and uphold safety and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, in-person position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel industry preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to material handling equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).
• Familiarity with shipping/receiving operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, lulls, and cranes to move material throughout the facility.
• Load and unload trucks with raw stock and finished product.
• Sort materials into designated zones.
• Safely operate heavy equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
