Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking a Detail Technician I to ensure vehicles are cleaned and detailed to sale condition per customer specifications and Auction standards. You will inspect vehicles and work areas after reconditioning, perform interior/exterior detailing, and drive tasks as required.

The role requires the ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods, valid driver’s license, and willingness to work a day shift on-site.

Qualifications

• Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
• You must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and lean for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean out and de-trash interior of vehicles by removing debris from ashtrays, console, dashboard, door panels, seats, trunk and engine compartment.
• Remove license plates and stickers, and clean windows; disassemble spare tires in trunk.
• Wash vehicles with high-pressure washer or auto wash; apply chemicals; clean engine compartment; terminal cleaning.
• Clean doorjambs, sills, interior panels, wheels, tires, and exterior surfaces; detail interiors and exteriors with brushes and dressings.
• Buff vehicles by applying dressing and polishing; wax and buff painted surfaces with a hand or rotary buffer.
• Vacuum interior; scrub, shampoo and spot clean carpet and upholstery; straighten seatbelts.
• Clean glove box and ensure warranty materials are returned.
• Follow safety procedures and support safety initiatives.
