Responsibilities

• Plans and performs imaging procedures to produce sonographic images for diagnosis or treatment.
• Maintains professional and technical competencies as required by the organization and accrediting bodies.
• Reviews physician’s requests and clarifies details with the referring physician before performing the study.
• Produces images of optimal quality and ensures patient confidentiality.
• Educates patients about sonographic procedures and answers questions.
• Promotes teamwork with radiology staff and other departments.
• Engages in problem solving and quality improvement to support high-quality patient care.
• Acts as a clinical instructor and evaluates student performance per program guidelines.
• Maintains ongoing professional development in sonographic imaging techniques.
• Follows applicable codes of ethics and hospital policies.
• Reports equipment issues promptly and supports maintenance needs.
• Performs High Level Disinfection of ultrasound equipment per policy.
